Speaking & Press
Bring Paul to your stage.
Speaking, panels, working sessions, and keynote engagements on the future of community capital, regenerative economic infrastructure, and the design problem at the heart of modern finance.
Why Book Paul
A reframe, not a slide deck.
Most finance speakers tell you what’s working today. Paul tells you what’s broken structurally and what to do about it.
The result is a different kind of session. Audiences leave with a reframe, not a slide deck. Operators leave with an instrument design they can actually use. Allocators leave with a portfolio diagnostic they can run on Monday morning. Policy people leave with a draft standard they can take to the regulator.
Paul has been doing this work in public for over a decade. The talks are battle-tested. The audience response is in the testimonials below.
Speaking Topics
The talks Paul gives.
Each can be calibrated to a 20-minute keynote, a 45-minute talk, a 90-minute workshop, or a half-day working session.
How cash-flow returns are calculated and disclosed
How maturity, default, and recovery are reported
How portfolio-level aggregation works across instruments
How the data is structured so it can be imported into existing custodial and reporting systems
How platforms communicate the underlying parameters of each instrument in a machine-readable way

What to Expect from Paul as a Speaker
Conversational, on the record.
Paul shows up early, talks to your team, and stays for the after-party. The session is conversational, not lectured. He takes hard questions on the record. He will tell you what he disagrees with about your conference theme if you ask, and he will do so respectfully.
He does not require a green room.
He requires a microphone that works.
PRESS KIT
The press kit includes:
Three biography lengths (50 words, 150 words, 350 words)
High-resolution headshots in landscape and portrait
Event photography from past engagements
Topic descriptions and learning objectives for each talk
Sample social copy and pull quotes
Tech rider and AV requirements
Travel preferences and logistics
How to Adopt the Standard
The goal is adoption, not gatekeeping.
If you operate a platform, the adoption guide and reference implementation are linked below. I am available to consult on the implementation, no fee, because the goal is adoption, not gatekeeping.
If you are an institutional allocator who wants to understand the standard so you can require it of platforms you evaluate, the policy brief gives you the language.
If you are a founder raising on a Reg CF platform, ask your platform if they have adopted the standard. If they haven’t, ask them when.
Selected Quotes (Examples to be updated)
What people say after.
From the live pitch competition founder who got a $50,000 investment after Paul publicly endorsed her deal structure on stage.
“He’s the only judge who actually evaluated the deal structure. The investment that came in after the show happened because of his comments.”
From a partner attorney after Paul explained the structural critique in their first meeting.
“That was the most concise articulation of what’s wrong with equity that I have heard in 15 years. You just gave me a brain massage.”
From a fellow CfPA board member.
“Paul has done more to professionalize this asset class in five years than the rest of us combined. He just refuses to take credit for any of it.”

A Note on Honoraria and Travel
The answer is more often yes than no.
Paul is based in Honolulu. Travel logistics from Hawai‘i are reflected in his standard travel rider, which is included in the press kit. Honoraria are calibrated to event budget and audience. Paul speaks at mission-aligned convenings at reduced or waived rates when the case for impact is clear.
For nonprofits, policy events, and emerging ecosystem convenings, please ask. The answer is more often yes than no.
